KECD Commentary on the Reopening of Schools for the 2022-23 Academic Year

June 5th, 2022  •  Category News  •  Author: KECD Staff

Schools will be reopening this month (June) for the start of the 2022-23 academic year. In areas where the KECD operates, various other education programmes operate in addition to the core education system and services of the KECD.

At this time, many children and their parents will be excited to start or resume their studies, while others may be facing difficult decisions about if and where to enrol in school; still others may have little or no choice.

Education is a key component to the overall development of young people, and KECD believes that their right to access and enjoy education should be free of any threat or intimidation. Similarly, school staff and their institutions should also be able to operate in an unfettered environment devoid of any risk or coercion.

It is in this light that KECD would like to extend its warm felicitations to all young people embarking on this new academic year and wish them all the very best in their studies.
