Student Fellowship Held Across Three Districts in Kawthoolei Despite Security Challenges
A series of student fellowship events were successfully organized across three districts in January 2025, bringing together over 2,500 participants from various communities. The events took place in Doothahtu, Dooplaya, and Hpa-An districts, covering five townships: Hpa-An, Belin, Kaw T’ree, T’Nay Cha, and T’Kreh.
The fellowship featured sports competitions, mental health sessions, community discussions, and awareness programs on Karen education and governance. In the evenings, students engaged in spelling bees, speech contests, and cultural performances, fostering both learning and entertainment.
Security challenges led to last-minute venue changes, but organizers ensured the events continued safely. A community leader praised the initiative, stating, “Our children gained not only knowledge but also a sense of unity and motivation through these activities.”
