𝗦𝗔𝗖 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲
On July 26, 2025, the State Administration Council (SAC) deliberately launched an airstrike on Ta Ree Plaw Village, located in the P’Lor region, Ler Mu Lah Township, Mergui-Tavoy District. This unlawful attack had devastating consequences for a local family. The bombing tragically killed the father, a 32-year-old man, and seriously injured three other family members: the mother, 30 years old, and their two children, who are both students.
In addition to the human loss, the airstrike destroyed a religious building in the village. The family is now facing a deeply challenging situation: the loss of the main breadwinner, severe physical and emotional trauma, and the disruption of the children’s education. They are currently receiving medical care at a local clinic.
This attack is part of an ongoing pattern of SAC’s indiscriminate airstrikes on civilian areas. On July 13, 2025, SAC forces also bombed Htee Ther Len High School in Kaw T’Ree Township, Doo Playa District, completely destroying the entire school campus.
These repeated assaults on villages, schools, and places of worship violate international humanitarian norms and cause untold suffering to innocent civilians, especially children.
We urgently call upon the international community to take action in holding the perpetrators accountable and exerting pressure on the SAC to cease all unlawful attacks. Protecting civilians and ensuring access to safe and uninterrupted education must be a global priority.
