𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗧’𝗥𝗲𝗲 𝗞𝘆𝗼𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗳
Between June and August, communities across Kawthoolei often face extreme weather conditions such as flooding, landslides, and strong winds. These challenges frequently disrupt daily life and affect community infrastructure, including schools.
On July 23, 2025, strong winds swept through T’Ree Kyoe village in T’Nay Cha Township, Hpa-An District. The powerful gusts caused significant damage to the roof of T’Ree Kyoe Primary School. Sheets of roofing were torn off, leaving parts of the school building exposed to the elements. This damage has impacted the safety and comfort of students and teachers, making it difficult to continue normal classes.
The incident highlights the vulnerability of rural schools to natural disasters and the urgent need for improved infrastructure that can withstand harsh weather. Local leaders and community members are now assessing the situation and discussing possible repair plans to ensure that children can return to a safe learning environment as soon as possible.
