Subject Teacher Training (July–August 2025)

We, the Karen Education and Culture Department (KECD), are proud to serve the people of Kawthoolei. Even though there are many problems, like the civil war and bad weather, we continue to work hard to give education to our children.

In the 2025–2026 school year, we are running 1,738 schools, with 11,939 teachers teaching 149,762 students. This shows the strong spirit of our people who never give up on education.

In July and August 2025, our Training Unit organized Subject Teacher Training in Doo Tha Htu, Doo Pla Ya, and Hpa An. A total of 395 teachers (251 female and 144 male) from 126 schools joined the training. The training was provided based on the requested subject skills from the schools, so that teachers could learn what they need most. They gained new knowledge and skills to teach better and help students learn more.

We also use our own curriculum, made for our schools in Kawthoolei. The curriculum has eight subjects, and it helps our children learn the knowledge they need for the future.

Education is our hope. Teachers are our strength. Students are our future. Together, we will build a brighter tomorrow for Kawthoolei.
