On October 6, 2025, at 5:22 p.m., the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) deliberately carried out a jet fighter airstrike in the Pa Pu region, Bu Tho Township, Mutraw District. The attack resulted in injuries to two female students.
A local community member said, “While on school holiday, the two students were visiting their relatives when they were injured.” Currently, both students are receiving medical treatment at a local clinic.
Details of the injured students:
Naw Htoo Law La, 19 years old, a Grade 12 student at Htee Thel Lay High School, from Htee Law Theit Hta Village. She sustained injuries to her left elbow and lower leg.
Naw Cho Chee Aye, 17 years old, a Grade 11 student at Htee Thel Lay High School, from Htee Law Theit Hta Village. She sustained injuries to her left hand and foot.
Similarly, on September 3, 2025, in Ta Kreh Township, Hpa-an District, the SSPC conducted a drone attack that injured two teachers and one student.
The families of the injured students are now facing emotional distress and financial hardship. The Karen Education and Culture Department (KECD) shares the pain and concern of the victims’ families.
