State Security and Peace Commission Shells Pah Baw Village with Heavy Weapons (120 mm), Causing Deaths and Injuries to Children and Adults.
On October 20, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., troops from the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC), based at the Kama Moe (Kamamaung) military camp, allegedly fired heavy artillery (120 mm) into Pah Baw Village, Hpa An Township, Doo Tha Htu District. The shelling directly struck a civilian area.
As a result of this attack, two schoolgirls and one adult male were killed, while eleven schoolchildren and other community members sustained injuries.
A local community leader stated:
“The girls who lost their lives were both school kids. Naw Aye Mu, aged 12, died immediately at the scene, while Naw Hsa Mi, aged 13, passed away after arriving at the hospital. There are eleven other injured children, aged between six and twelve.”

7. Naw Khin Ma Cho, 7 years old, Grade 1 student, sustained injuries to her hip and upper legs and is receiving medical attention in Town hospital.

Fatalities
1. Naw Wah Wah Eh (also known as Naw Aye Mu), 9 years old, Grade 1 student, she was struck by shell fragments on her lower body, legs, and chest, and sadly lost her life.
2. Naw Cha Mi, 7 years old, KG student, was severely injured by shell fragments on both legs and sadly lost her life.
Similarly, on October 9, 2025, in K’Baw Yu Plaw Village, Bilin Township, Doo Tha Htu District, the SSPC conducted an airstrike, killing five schoolchildren and injuring two others.
These indiscriminate attacks on civilian areas have caused widespread fear, instability, and disruption to community life. The ongoing violence presents serious challenges to the delivery of essential public services.
We respectfully call upon the international community to take urgent and meaningful action to ensure the protection of civilians and to pursue a long-term resolution to this situation.
