Kwee Lah Village Airstrike Kills One Student, Injures Three
On 25 January 2026 at around 8:20 p.m., an SSPC airstrike struck Kwee Lah village in Kler Lwee Htu District, causing civilian casualties. One student, Saw Eh Law La Moo, age 7 , was killed in the attack. Three other students were injured: Saw Eh Khu Hti Thaw (Grade 6), Saw Eh Ler Bwe Moo (Grade 4) and Saw Eh Nar Doh Moo (Grade 4).
The Karen Education and Culture Department (KECD) expressed deep sorrow over the incident, stating that the community has lost not only a child but also a future leader. KECD stressed that children must never be targets of war.
The SSPC continues to speak about peace while attacking our students and our children and thr the silence in the face of these crimes is the same as agreeing with the perpetrators . The world must speak out and act to protect children.
