Airstrike in Ta Pee Lay Hko Village killed six students, injured four others, and killed two civilians injuring four

On March 9, 2026, at approximately 12:15 p.m., the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) intentionally conducted an airstrike on Ta Pee Lay Hko Village, Ler Mu Lah Township, Mergui-Tavoy District. This violent act resulted in the deaths of six students (four girls and two boys) and the injury of four school children (one girl and three boys). In addition, two adult men were killed and four other adults were injured. The airstrike also completely destroyed a religious building in the village.
