SAC jet purposefully bombed Noh Poe primary school
On April 7, 2024, at 1:40 am, an SAC jet purposefully bombed Noh Poe primary school, located in Noh Poe village, Kaw T’ree (Kawkareik) township, Doo Playa District. The unlawful act resulted in the demolition of Noh Poe school’s structure and its furniture. Specifically, a classroom was totally destroyed, in addition to damage to the school’s walls, ceiling, roof, chairs, and tables.
The SAC jet dropped 3 bombs, one of which struck the school structure, while the other two bombs hit the road and community houses. The destruction of the classroom will consume effort and financial resources to rebuild. The school is in a conflict zone, with SAC jet fighter bombardments posing the most significant danger, making them uncertain to utilize the school building, Reported by local authority.
KECD has faced numerous obstacles and disruptions, such as frequent school demolitions and threats from SAC jet bombings. As the organization record, in March alone, such violations and insultation occurred more than four times.
Despite the challenges, the communities are highly motivated and value education. Even in difficult circumstances, they strive to find alternative platforms for children’s learning. As an education organization, we are delighted to see the community’s interest in education. However, witnessing such violations is extremely disheartening, and we hope for an immediate cessation of SAC jet bombing schools and community houses.
