On April 19, 2025, at around 11 a.m., the SAC deliberately carried out an airstrike on Khaw Poe Pleh Monastery Bilin Township, Doo Tha Htu District. The attack resulted in the tragic deaths of three innocent civilians—one young novice and two women—and caused significant damage to buildings in the area. The novice, Saw Than Soe Oo, was a Grade 4 student at Khaw Poe Pleh Middle School during the 2024–2025 academic year.
Saw Than Soe Oo, just 9 years old, was the son of Saw Kyaw Maung Than and Naw Ma Hla Myint. He suffered a severe head injury and sadly passed away on the way to the hospital.
Similarly, on the afternoon of April 15, 2025, the SAC dropped two 500-pound bombs on Kar Ni Monastery. The bombing led to deaths and extensive damage, as reported by KIC.
Since the military coup in 2021, the SAC has consistently used airstrikes, drone attacks, and shelling against innocent civilians across Myanmar. These acts of violence have caused countless deaths, destruction of community infrastructure, and the displacement of many families. Civilians continue to live in fear, facing ongoing threats, torture, and trauma under military rule.
