SAC Bombing Severely Damages Educational Infrastructure

On July 10, 2025, at 11:05 AM, SAC forces dropped two bombs on Khaw Poe Pleh Middle School in Doo Tha Htu District, Bilin Township. This unlawful attack destroyed key school facilities, including a newly rebuilt school building. All teaching and learning materials inside were also completely ruined. In addition, nearby community houses sustained significant damage.

A local source said, “At 11:05 AM today, one SAC jet dropped two bombs and completely destroyed the school building that was rebuilt earlier this year.”This is not the first attack on this school. On March 13, 2024, a jet strike by SAC forces also destroyed all buildings on the campus, damaged teaching and learning materials, and destroyed sports equipment.

Further, on April 29, 2025, SAC forces attacked a religious building (monastery), killing one student and two local civilians. These deliberate and repeated attacks on religious sites, schools, health centers, and civilian areas severely threaten the development of the community across all sectors.

Such acts of violence and humiliation against the education sector pose serious challenges to the operations of the Karen Education and Culture Department (KECD) and hinder the educational development of the community.

We call on the international community to not only condemn these atrocities but to take urgent and meaningful action to protect innocent children and civilians in Myanmar. The failure to intervene and hold perpetrators accountable is not only a moral failure—it is a glaring dereliction of global responsibility.
