The assault included six separate strikes carried out by drone attacks, jet fighter airstrikes, bombing operations, and gyrocopter gunfire. These calculated acts of violence severely damaged Pyin Yin Middle School and destroyed two community houses, leaving families without shelter and students without a safe place to learn.
The continued use of jet fighters, artillery shelling, and drone strikes against civilian communities has forced villagers to flee their homes, seeking safety in forests and temporary shelters. Families now face displacement, shortages of food, and medical supplies, and constant anxiety over the threat of further attacks. Children, who should be focused on their studies and dreams for the future, now live with stress and uncertainty. The sound of aircraft overhead has become a symbol of terror, and daily life has been replaced by survival.
These attacks on schools and civilian homes are not only violations of human rights but also direct assaults on the future of the community. We call upon the international community, humanitarian organizations, and defenders of human dignity to urgently take meaningful action to protect civilians. Silence in the face of such violence only deepens the suffering. The innocent people from remote areas of Karen deserve safety, education, and peace. The world must not look away.’
