On July 11, 2024, the SAC violently shelled artillery (122 mm) into Tho Ni Doh village, Daw Hpa Hko Township, Taw Oo District. Unfortunately, this criminal act brutally killed an innocent person and injured one student and two community members.
Saw Stiven Noble Oo, a ten-year-old grade four student attending Tho Ni Doh (#2161), son of the Saw Steper Noe (life lost) and Naw Mee Ngae, was injured near his eye.
The child’s mother, already suffering from the loss of her husband, is now facing traumatic stress as she must also provide treatment for her child. This incident has saddened us deeply, and we share the same grief as the victims’ families.
Since the military coup, the SAC has targeted communities, schools, and religious sites every month. Last June, a school in the Mergui-Tavoy district was attacked, and in May, the SAC attacked a community, injuring one student.
