State Administration Council’s Threats and Premeditated Attacks

The State Administration Council (SAC) has been deliberately targeting schools under the administration of the Karen Education and Culture Department (KECD). In recent months, SAC’s attacks have resulted in injuries, loss of lives, and severe damage to school buildings. These ongoing threats have forced communities to relocate classrooms into the jungle to ensure the safety of students and teachers.

On February 7, 2025, at 2:00 AM, in Doo Tha Htu (Thaton) District, Bilin (Belin) Township, Ae Su Hkee Village, SAC intentionally bombed the village, leading to the destruction of school buildings, teachers’ housing, and extensive damage to roofs, walls, and windows. Several pieces of school equipment were also destroyed.

A local leader reported, “An SAC jet dropped three bombs on the village. One struck the school area, hitting the teachers’ housing, while the other two landed outside the school premises.”

Similarly, on February 1, 2025, in Kler Lwee Htu District, Hsaw Htee and Ler Doh Townships, SAC launched heavy artillery attacks on villages, injuring one civilian and destroying two community homes, according to a report from the KNU Facebook page.
