The State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) Attacked on Basic education Kaw T’Ree Township P’Loo Hpoh primary School
On 26 September 2025, at approximately 12:00 p.m., in Doo Playa District, Kaw T’Ree Township, P’Loo Hpoh Village, troops from the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) (previously known as SAC) deliberately attacked the village twice using kamikaze drones. This unlawful assault damaged the P’Loo Hpoh Primary School (No. 6400) building as well as its furniture.
A local leader stated, “Today, around noon, two drone attacks occurred. Fortunately, no one was injured as the school building was on-one at the time.”
Similarly, on 3 September 2025, SSPC troops also launched a kamikaze drone attack on Nawt Taet Khee Middle School, located in Ta Kreh Township, Hpa-an District.
During the 2024–2025 academic year, 47 students were enrolled at P’Loo Hpoh Primary School, where three teachers were teaching. The school provides education from Grade 1 to Grade 6.
These repeated attacks have caused deep concern among teachers, students, and parents regarding the safety of learning. The Karen Education and Culture Department also expresses its grave concern for the well-being of students, teachers, parents, and the wider community. Furthermore, such attacks have created serious obstacles to the implementation of education in the area.
We sincerely hope that the international community will take meaningful action to intervene and put an end to these kinds of attacks.
