Airstrikes Destroy Village Middle School and Residential Areas

On April 15 and 16, the Myanmar military launched a series of devastating airstrikes on Khen Pa village in Lu Thaw Township, Mutraw District. The attack was carried out in two waves, using two jet fighters and two Y-12 aircraft that dropped more than 50 bombs directly onto the village.

​The bombardment completely destroyed the village middle school, leveling the building to the ground. Along with the school, the strikes caused fires that burned down the home in the village. This coordinated assault, starting with the jets and followed by the Y-12 planes circling to drop dozens more munitions, has left the community in ruins.
